The problem
I wanted to prove I could design outside typical tech-startup territory — something that felt genuinely luxury, rooted in West African craft and culture, for a real kind of audience: diaspora and local high-end clients looking for bespoke tailoring in Monrovia.
The approach
I built Maison Zola as a full brand site with an editorial feel — a homepage that sets the tone, a browsable lookbook organized by category, a dedicated page walking through the bespoke tailoring process and pricing, and a brand story page for the studio itself. The colors, type, and pacing lean warm and considered rather than flashy, and motion only shows up in a few key places, so it feels handcrafted instead of templated.
The outcome
A premium, believable fashion-house website that could pass as a real luxury brand's home online — proof that I can design well outside standard developer-portfolio territory, with genuine editorial and cultural weight behind it.
